My role isn't to take over your project. It's to help you understand it. We'll look at what's working, what questions still need to be asked, and where you may need more information before making a decision.

Frequently asked questions

What is renovation consulting?

Renovation consulting gives you independent guidance when you need help understanding your project, reviewing your options, or figuring out what to do next. You can bring me your plans, quotes, material choices, questions or concerns, and we’ll work through them together.

Can you review plans or quotes from another designer or contractor?

Absolutely. This isn’t about criticizing someone else’s work. We’ll look at the information together so you understand what’s being proposed, what questions you may still have, and whether it aligns with what you’re trying to accomplish.

How is this different from hiring a designer or contractor?

I’m not taking over your renovation or replacing your designer or contractor. My role is to provide an independent perspective and help you understand the decisions you’re making. I can help identify questions you may want to ask, review plans or materials with you, and help you navigate the process with greater clarity.

Can you help me choose materials and finishes?

Yes. We can discuss cabinetry, countertops, flooring, tile, fixtures and other selections based on your lifestyle, budget, maintenance expectations and what you actually value. The goal isn’t simply to tell you what looks good. It’s to help you understand what may work best for you.

Do you manage the renovation for me?

Not through these consulting services. I can help you navigate decisions and understand the process, but I’m not acting as your general contractor or taking responsibility for managing trades, permits, construction or the work performed by other professionals.

Can I book more than one consultation?

Of course. Some homeowners may only need one conversation. Others may want help at different stages of their renovation. You can use as much or as little consulting support as your project requires.

Do I need to have plans or quotes before booking?

No. You can contact me at the very beginning when you’re still trying to figure out where to start, or later when you already have plans, quotes and selections in front of you.

What happens during a consultation?

Before we meet, I may ask you to send relevant plans, photos, quotes or other information depending on the service you’ve booked. During the consultation, we’ll work through your questions and concerns together and focus on practical next steps.
